A Tasty Read?

Fellow Desert Breeze author and ACFW member Shawna Williams is waiting to read SEASONS IN THE MIST, but is in a holding pattern. Her 13 year old apparently got to it first.

She reports, "My oldest daughter likes to read outside, so she took the book with her to the goat pen. We love our goats...anyhow, she has this goat named Precious, who was happily sitting next to Lexi while she read. Lexi got distracted by a bug and set the book down to swat it. When she turned around, Precious was walking off with the book in her mouth, and Lexi had to wrestle it away. The book is fine, only slight teeth impressions. But now it seems that not only am I having to fight my daughters for a turn to read it, the goat's trying to weasel in, too."

I'm honored & humbled that a goat loves my book. But a tad bit bummed, alongside.

See, I had visions of fans reading it, not eating it...

I've heard of a read being juicy, but you're blazing new trails.

My only hope is that Precious will somehow be uplifted spiritually by the flavor.

Yeah, that.

My daughter will be 13 in August. And while she isn't yet taking over my books, she gets my earrings, my socks, my shoes, etc.....

I suppose my books are next...

My shoes were definitely in jeopardy there for a while. Then, thank heaven, her feet grew a size larger than mine!

The socks--probably the least said about those, the better.

I am glad that I read this post.

As you know, I have just finished reading Seasons in the Mist, and because I do giveaways on my blog, I was thinking of giving this book to a reader of mine whom expresses interest in the story, but I wasn't sure.

Why wasn't I sure? Because, having a good, healthy, and clean romance read in the home for my girls (14, 12,10) to read at some point seems like a very good idea.

Well, after reading this post, I know now that I will keep the book for them as they do browse my shelves and read what I have read (within reason) from time to time. And I do believe, this book would be fantastic for their reading minds when they are ready.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Thanks for this post.

Ibeeeg, I'm glad you decided to keep it. My 15 year old liked it. Of course, she took great care to point out the places she felt something could've been said better...but only AFTER it was too late to change it!

Thanks for stopping by.
